Catherine will talk about the various elements of good writing that elevate some manuscripts above the rest, what she looks for in submissions, and what she expects from the writers with whom she works. Q&A

Carolyne Latham - Selling your books

Carolyne runs the children’s department in Blackwells, just along from the Dovecot Studios. She will explain how high street bookselling works, what writers can do to create a healthy partnership with their local booksellers, and why some books just keep on selling.
Carolyne will be delighted to show delegates round the department at the end of the day.

Louise will focus on how images and words work together to tell a story, what makes a story work within the picture book format, and how new technologies are influencing the market. Q&A

Lindsey, Lucy and Kathryn will talk about the professional implications of being a published writer, explain the business relationship between Literary Agents and their writers, and outline the process by which delegates can submit their work over the coming months.
